Dr. Javedi said that in a recent study by NIMHANS researchers, it was found that the effect of excessive alcohol consumption on DNA can be irreversible. That is, once a change has taken place, it remains the same again. In this context, the same change persists even when alcohol is not consumed. In February 2021, NIMHANS (NIMHANS) studied the effect of alcohol on 52 people between the ages of 21 and 40 years. He was addicted to alcohol. These people were undergoing treatment for alcohol addiction between March 2015 and April 2016. Researchers have found in their study that excessive consumption of alcohol resulted in alcohol use disorder in these people due to which the pattern of DNA in men changed. This change persists for at least three months after quitting alcohol.
