New Delhi. Monkeypox virus has now knocked in the country’s capital Delhi as well. The first patient of monkeypox has surfaced in Delhi, who has been admitted to Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi. After the presence of two patients already in Kerala, now there has been a stir in North India and especially in Delhi due to the presence of monkeypox patients. This is the reason why the Delhi government including the Center has given orders to prepare for it. Under this, a special ward has been made for monkeypox in Delhi’s Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital.

LNJP Hospital’s Medicine Director Dr. Suresh Kumar told News18 Hindi that a special ward has been set up for monkeypox in the hospital. In which the facility of oxygen, medicines, other necessary medical equipment has been provided. Like Kovid, all doctors and nursing or staff are entering the ward wearing PPE kits. Initially, a total of 6 beds have been installed in this ward. Right now in Delhi itself, the first patient of monkeypox has come to the fore, who has been admitted to a bed in this ward.

Dr. Suresh says that the patient of monkeypox who has come forward is 31 years old. When he was admitted here, he had a fever of 101 degrees Fahrenheit and there were red spots on his body. It was getting very tired too. Since there is no specific treatment or vaccine for this virus yet, the symptoms are being treated like corona. Fever medicines and antibiotics are being given to the patient. Dr. said that the first patient who came to the hospital is being fully monitored. His symptoms are being watched closely.

WHO declares state of emergency regarding monkeypox
Let us tell you that on Saturday itself, the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared such a rapid spread of this virus as an ‘extraordinary’ situation and declared a global emergency regarding it. This announcement by WHO can accelerate investment for the treatment of this disease and it has underlined the need to develop a vaccine for this disease.
